Our Story
Founded by James Altrichter, successful technologist, software entrepreneur and strategic business leader, Scalable Platforms is built on the experience of growing SaaS and IoT solutions from start-up into global technologies.
With a proven track record of assessing business needs and building engaged high-performance technology teams, James strives to be the kind of technical and business advisor that he wished he had along the way.
James was part of a leadership team that journeyed from creating an initial concept to building a global software platform that supported clients on 5 continents with over 150 million members, over 1 billion transactions/year, and web traffic in excess of 5 Billion hits/year.
His experience covers the full management life-cycle of a high-tech business: commercialization and launch, acquisition, internal adoption, and global expansion.
First and foremost James is a technologist. He's been able to succeed in technology businesses, because he is passionate about software development. Before founding Smart Button he headed software development at EnviroMetrics, an emerging technology firm building client/server based environment compliance software. Prior to that he held both senior software engineer and group leadership positions with Scientific Games for point-of-sale and video gaming systems. Outside of work, he shares his time mentoring youth technology teams in programs such as: First Lego League (FLL) and the Technology Student Association (TSA). He is proud to have been able to found the Alt-Shift Computing Initiative to award college scholarship assistance to students at his alma mater.
James leverages his unique insights in software development, application life-cycle management, entrepreneurship, cloud operations, and security compliance; as well as his social graph of technical connections to guide his clients to success.
